Flowers from Mannavanchola
Mannavan Chola (King of Sholas) is the largest continuous patch of shola forests (patches of stunted evergreen tropical and subtropical moist broad leaf forest found in valleys amid rolling grassland in the higher montane regions of South India) in Kerala, a part of the recently declared Anamudichola National park. It is accessible from Kanthalloor near Marayoor, Idukki district. Harboring a large variety of indigenous flora and fauna, it is also one of the most threatened shola forests in these parts.
